PartnersHP intends for the scholarships to be given to two students who exemplify community service and the values of our Partnership. Recipients are selected based on applicant community and school service, volunteer activities, personal essay, and references.

The Partnership was formed in October 2000 with members working on issues around hunger and food insecurity in Portage County. Over the years, there was growth in this group, and in April 2006 the Partnership expanded to include poverty issues. Teams are continuously developed to help address and solve hunger and poverty issues that face Portage County.

Our mission: We partner with our community to GROW food, FEED people, and HOUSE families.  Hunger and poverty prevention is possible with Partnership.

Our values:

  • We believe that every individual should be treated with dignity and respect.
  • No one should go hungry.
  • Everyone should be able to support themselves and their families.
  • Everyone should be provided the opportunity to reach their potential.
  • Collaboration is the most effective process for achieving lasting change.
  • The partnership should advocate on behalf of the hungry and poor.
  • Significant progress will be possible only with broad-based community involvement.

Scholarship materials are due by April 21, 2025
